How to relax before bed
Getting a good night’s sleep can be challenging. Many times we wake up in the middle of the night unable to get back to sleep or wake up feeling like we just went to bed and haven’t rested. One way to ensure a deep sleep that allows us to perform during the day is by relaxing before bed. Below we will give you several tips to make the most of those hours of sleep.
Steps to follow:
Step: 1
The old trick that will not fail you. Taking a hot bath will make your muscles relax and your body temperature rise, the combination of these two factors will help you sleep better. Get in your shower, put some essential oils or lavender incense and let go. Take the time you need to feel relaxed and you will see how well you will sleep.
Step: 2
When we lie in bed we must make sure that everything we have around us makes us feel comfortable. If your pajamas are a bit tight, if you are a little hot or cold, if the bed is dirty and has crumbs that bother you, you will not rest as you need. Make it easy for your body and mind to relax and seek to be as comfortable as possible.
Step: 3
We usually (or should) stretch before and after exercising but if we take 5 minutes before bed to stretch our body we will see the difference. Many times when the end of the day comes we have tense muscles from different activities or stressful situations. If first we take a hot bath and stretch a little, then we will notice how your body releases tension and relaxes.
Step: 4
When you lie in bed disconnect from your digital life and all your technological devices. Turn off your mobile or place it face down on your nightstand so that the light does not interrupt the relaxation process. If you like to watch a bit of TV try to watch positive or funny things and try to turn it off at least 30 minutes before you intend to sleep. The lights of the television, mobile, etc. keep the attention focused on other issues and do not allow you to rest mentally.
Step: 5
If you haven’t gotten into the groove of meditation yet, try taking deep breaths before bed to relax. Take 10 minutes of quiet, breathe easy, and focus on each breath. If you feel that your mind begins to wander, think again about your breaths and visualize how your body is released from tension.
Step: 6
Travel with your mind and loses yourself in your favorite place. It can be a beautiful beach where you imagine yourself on the sand with the sea breeze hitting your face, being on a piece of furniture in the middle of the mountains, or on a deserted island. Find a flirt that inspires you with peace. Your mind will dictate the behavior of your body and you will be able to relax and fall asleep.
