What is the process of interior design?
Interior design is a process that begins with conception and ends when you have a finished space where your visions become reality.
- Define Your Brief
It is crucial to first define your goals, the scope of work and the feel and function you wish to achieve.
The interior designer will discuss your inspiration, plans, ideas, opinions, and the feasibility of your project. The interior designer will look at different approaches to help you achieve your project.
2. Schematic Design
Interior designers will then return to their studio to research and create the concept. This includes images, sketches, and finishes. The master plan is created to create a flow between the rooms, with enough intelligent storage. It’s all inspired by your daily routine.
3. Design Development
After you approve the concept, detailed plans for your space. These include elevations of walls and joinery in 3D. You can then visualise the space in detail. The interior designer will then help you select the lighting, fixtures and finishes.
4. Construction Documentation
During this stage, the ideas are consolidated into a package of drawings for construction. Plans are thoroughly documented, and this becomes a blueprint for builders, joiners, and contractors. For Exeter Builders, visit www.silverferndevelopments.co.uk/exeter-builders
