1. Which way does the house face?

The way a house faces will impact how much light it gets during the day. Try to visit during the morning and afternoon to see how the light moves.

If it looks like a new roof will be needed soon, you may be able to ask for a reduction in the asking price to go towards it.

3. Is there parking?

Is there parking on the drive or on the road? Is the area permitted?

Check that you’re happy with the selection of shops, cafes and restaurants in the local area.

12. Are there local schools?

This is important to know if you’ve got kids. But if you haven’t, a school nearby could mean busy periods in the morning and afternoon.
