Packing for University

Going to university is a big adventure for most teenagers, and it is the first experience of living away from home for most of the people who head off to uni. As autumn arrives it is time for the new university students to take their first step into student life.

Being well organised is essential and making sure that you have everything you need when you head off to university means that you can get the most out of it and you won’t have to worry about not having the right things.

Firstly, checking what you need for your course is important. You should have information sent to you from your university which will specifically tell you what you need to bring for your course, and of course it depends on what you are studying. Generally, you are going to need stationery supplies as well as a laptop. If you are looking to save money look for cheap laptops that have been refurbished.

Because you are going to be independent, you are also going to need things for your new home from home. Things such as bedding and towels, as well as kitchen equipment are all things that first year students need to take with them, and of course what you need will depend on your accommodation.

You will also want to take personal possessions, such as clothing and toiletries – look out for places that offer student discounts if you want to buy anything to take with you.
